My Approach

Choosing a wedding photographer is about so much more than just the pictures. This person will be there with you all day, during some of the most important, emotional moments in your life. It’s so important that you can get along with them.

My approach to wedding photography is all about keeping things friendly, relaxed and unobtrusive. Your images will be a blend of documentary-style candid photos of real moments and natural, informal portraits of the two of you. I want to tell the real story of your day.

It’s my job to take awesome pictures, but not at the expense of you enjoying the day you’ve spent so long looking forward to. I strongly believe that if you’re having a great time, great photos will happen. What’s the point of amazing photos if you don’t have the memories to go along with them? I’m there to help make your day as relaxed and enjoyable as I can, to stay out of the way and give you as much time with your guests as possible.

If that sounds like the kind of experience you want from your photographer, you can get in touch here.

A little more about me…

I live in Aberdeen, Scotland with my wonderful wife Rebecca and our adopted dog Dexter.

Rebecca & I were married in a very small, very informal ceremony on the shores of Loch Coruisk in Skye on 4th May 2017… nothing to do with Star Wars, it just happened to be our 9th anniversary (though we do both love a bit of Star Wars).

Photography is my full-time obsession, as well as a career (my other hobbies have definitely suffered as a result). I fell in love with photography messing about with old film cameras at art school, and as soon as I started photographing people I realised that was all I wanted to take pictures of.

Away from the camera my favourite things are travelling and hillwalking with Rebecca, Netflix, cooking, good coffee, good beer, good whisky, salty black olives, and spending quality time with friends and family whenever I can.
