When Gill & Alastair got in touch to tell me about their plans to marry in a polytunnel & then host their reception in a tent on the banks of the River Spey in the middle of winter, my first thought was… that’s adventurous!

Planning a winter wedding in the north east of Scotland takes a bit of courage. The cold, the weather and limited hours of daylight can all be challenging.

Fortunately these guys really, really thought about what they were doing. Nothing was left to chance, and with an absolutely awesome team of suppliers behind them the day went off without a hitch (suppliers list at the bottom of the post!) And in the end the weather behaved itself too!

For my part we carefully planned how the photos were going to fit into their day to take advantage of the few hours of daylight, and with a lot of help from my second shooter on the day Calum we managed to squeeze everything in!

“Thanks so much for the photos – we have just had a look through and are feeling so happy with everything.”

“Really are great – couldn’t have asked for better and you’ve been a real asset to our wedding – so thank you (and Calum!)”

“Thank you again so much for everything, we have absolutely loved looking through them, reminiscing about the day and seeing bits that we missed. They were exactly what we wanted!!!”
