I feel very fortunate to have started 2018 off with Katherine & Roy’s stunning wedding at Fasque Castle near Fettercairn. Despite the sunshine it was bitterly cold outside, but thankfully the castle offered plenty of great opportunities for photos without anyone having to brave the elements! I was also very pleased to have the wonderful Calum Riddell shooting alongside me on the day.

Here’s what Katherine & Roy had to say about how we got on!

Chris got back to us really quickly whenever we needed anything.  We had a really short lead in to our wedding day so our pre-shoot was pretty close to the actual day but he immediately made us feel at ease.  He has a very warm and friendly personality and doesn’t push you to pose or act unnaturally – everything he does has you in mind, which we appreciated a lot.

Chris (& Calum) blended in seamlessly.  In the morning when we were getting ready he was polite and gave us time and then snuck off to take photos of all the subtleties of the day.  During the ceremony we barely noticed them but enough to know they were in the right spot!  Everyone commented on how friendly they (you) were and no-one found them to be in the way at any point – perfect!

We love the lighting, soft and natural.  We also love the volume of laughter/happy poses that are captured rather than fixed/staged shots.  The ceremony and speeches were the best part of our day and there are loads of great shots from these moments. The way they are presented back to us tell a story too – it isn’t just one picture and then another one, they flow in a good order and show enough of a section of time to remember exactly what happened through that moment.

You can pick anyone to be your photographer but you can’t always strike it right.  We hit top notch with Chris (& Calum) and they did us totally proud.  The photos are amazing, the story they tell is really great and will help us remember our wedding for years to come and the fact that they are super nice is just an excellent bonus.

Thank you so much from both of us.
